William L. “Bill” Nolle

Kill Devil Hills- William L. “Bill” Nolle, 63, of Colington Harbor in Kill Devil Hills, NC, passed away on Friday Dec 29, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Christine, his son Michael of Arnold MD, his daughter Elizabeth of Arnold, MD, and his sister Vivian Capretta of Penn Hills, PA. William was also the proud grandfather of 10 month old Logan Michael Nolle; son of Michael and daughter-in-law Lindsay McKeown Nolle of Arnold, MD.

Bill was born in Pittsburgh, PA to Mary Elizabeth Evrard and Lester William Nolle. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1967 and Edinboro State College in 1972. Bill retired from US Customs and Border Protection where he worked for 30 years. He and his wife moved to the Outer Banks from Frederick, MD in 2009, to be near the beach that he loved. At the time of his death he was employed by Nathan Associates Incorporated and Crown Agents as a consultant. Bill traveled extensively during his tenures with US Customs and Border Protection, Nathan Incorporated, and Crown Agents, making friends on each continent in the world.

Bill was an active member of Saint Andrews By-the-Sea Episcopal Church where he was a Eucharistic Lay Minister and a Lector. He also volunteered as an Adult ESOL instructor for Dare County Literacy in Kill Devil Hills, N.C. A memorial service will be held at Saint Andrews By-The-Sea, located at 4212 South Virginia Dare Trail, Nags Head, NC 27959 on Friday January 4th, 2013 at 11:00 am. In-lieu of flowers donations may be sent in memory of William Nolle to the Dare Literacy Council P.O. Box 7624, Kill Devil Hills N.C. 27948.
