William Joseph Riemke

William “Bill” Joseph Riemke, a resident of Kitty Hawk, NC, passed away peacefully with his family at his bedside on July 11, 2026 at the age of 78. Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Paula Terry.

Bill was born in Chattanooga, TN to Paul Joseph Riemke and Catherine Christine Robertson. After graduating from Paul G. Blazer High School in Ashland, Kentucky in 1965, Bill proudly served in the United States Navy as a Navy Corpsman for 5 years, obtaining the rank of Hospital Corpsman First Class.

In 1967, Bill married the love of his life, Cheryl Jean Hall, with whom they shared 59 beautiful years of marriage. Over a distinguished 40 plus-year career, he was known for his dedication and passion in the Ophthalmic Goods Industry in which he excelled at and received many accolades. Beyond his career, Bill possessed an unmatched passion for fishing and painting.

Bill leaves behind a profound legacy of love. He is lovingly remembered by his bride, Cheryl Jean Riemke; children, Yvonne Church (Jason) and Shawn Riemke (Kristi); three grandchildren, Mason Riemke, Mikaila Riemke, Carter Riemke; four great grandchildren; and two siblings, Cathy Hickey (Jerry) and John Riemke (Angie).

A Celebration of Life will take place at a future time and place. Condolences and shared memories may be left gallofuneralservices.com. Gallop Funeral Services was entrusted with arrangements.
