William Asa Rawls, III

Hertford-William Asa Rawls, III, 42 years old, of Hertford, North Carolina, a beloved father, son, and friend died unexpectedly in Virginia Beach, VA Monday, August 28, 2017.

He is survived by two sons, Brenden (Angela) and Caleb Rawls of Kill Devil Hills, NC, a daughter, Rebecca Rawls of Shiloh, NC, his mother, Wanda Hanbury of Elizabeth City, and his siblings, Jeremy Rawls (Brittany) of Statesville and Buffy Rawls of Greenville, NC and several nieces.

William was an avid fisherman, a Duke Fan, and NASCAR lover. He was a baseball, football, and basketball coach at Camden Parks and Rec for several years. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 11 AM at Waterfront Park in Elizabeth City, NC.

A celebration of life is planned immediately following the service at Camden Community Park. Please bring a covered dish. The family requests in lieu of flowers please send monetary donations to Gallop Funeral Services to assist the family with the funeral expenses.
