W. Chris Aydlett, Sr.

Aydlett – W. Chris Aydlett, Sr., 82, of Grandy died Tuesday, August 4, 2020 in Elizabeth City. He was born in Elizabeth City on September 4, 1937 to the late Francis and Lorena Olds Aydlett, the twelfth child.  Chris served in the United States Coast Guard and retired after 20 years. He then went to work and retired from the Currituck County School System as an Electrician and retired after a 24-year second career.  Chris was a faithful member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church for his lifetime.

Chris is survived by his wife, Alline Twiford Aydlett of 60 years; four children, Rev. W. Chris Aydlett, Jr. and wife Angie, Janice Aydlett Farr and husband Mike, Jimmy O. Aydlett and wife Jennifer, and Reneé Aydlett Liverman and husband Wes; eleven grandchildren, Rachel Cessna, Benjamin Aydlett, Christopher Farr, Katherine Aydlett, Maggie Aydlett, Matthew Aydlett, Jacob Bridgewater, Caitlin McPherson, Kelsey Liverman, Zane Liverman, Ivy Liverman; three great-grandchildren, Brody McPherson, Braxton McPherson and Coral Farr; four Sisters, Mildred Mercer, Carolyn Simpson, Jean Tarkington, Catherine Aydlett; one brother, Billy Aydlett; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A private ceremony will be held honoring Chris’ life. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to be made in Chris’ name to the Lower Currituck Food Pantry in Grandy where he proudly served for many years.
