Thomas Nathan Saunders

Jarvisburg – Thomas (Tommy) Nathan Saunders, 52, of Jarvisburg, NC passed away peacefully on October 31, 2017 at Princess Anne Hospital following a sudden illness. He was preceded in death by his parents Carroll and Jeannie (Bickford) Saunders of Moyock, N.C.

Tommy was a maintenance technician for Carolina Designs Reality and lived his whole life in Currituck County. He had a passion for NASCAR and loved his Dallas Cowboys. Tommy was a beloved friend to many and loved spending time with them watching a game or a race or cheering them on at the mud bogs.  Family was most important to Tommy and his love for them never wavered.

Left to cherish his memories are his son, Christopher (Chris) Saunders and Chris’s mother Sandy Tipton, Chris’s fiancée Kelsey Naugle and his grandson, Jaxon Thomas Saunders of Grandy, NC.  He also leaves behind a brother and three sisters.  Billy Saunders, Carol Banks, Clarissa Vance and Susan McClanahan.  Tommy also had many nieces and nephews whom he shared a very special bond.

A Memorial Service for Tommy will be held at Jarvisburg Church of Christ Saturday November 4th at 2:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will follow at the home of his son. If you would care to, you may bring a covered dish and a beverage of your choice.
