Stephen Hoyt Law
Stephen Hoyt “Steve” Law, 59, departed this world from his home in Salvo, North Carolina on Wednesday, October 1st, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. Steve is survived by his wife Pamela Law, his four daughters, April Law Keaton, Stephanie Law Black, Donna Law, and Kimberly Chatham, his son Derek Law, his son-in-law Charles Emmett Chatham IV, and close family Jerry, Doris, and JD. Steve was blessed in this life with seven grandchildren: Shelby, Jarrett, Chandler, Savannah, Claira, Percie, and Sylvia.
Steve began his life in Milton, West Virginia where he developed a passion for baseball and hunting. Over the course of his life, he held many jobs but found his calling as an auto mechanic and later as the owner of a pool and spa company in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Steve was a kind soul that helped everyone he met without expecting anything in return. He was also known for being straightforward-you always knew where you stood with Steve.
Steve’s family would like to thank all of their amazing friends in Rodanthe, Waves, and Salvo that worked tirelessly to make sure the last 16 months were filled with love, peace, and comfort. The family also extends their gratitude to the staff at UNC Cancer Center, the Outer Banks Hospital, the SECU Family House at Chapel Hill, Dare County Home Health and Hospice, Dare County EMT, and Rodanthe, Waves, and Salvo Fire and Rescue for their service over the last year.
A celebration Steve’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 8th at 11am at Fairhaven Church in Rodanthe, North Carolina with the Reverend Jim Bliss officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hatteras Island Cancer Foundation at P.O. Box 442, Hatteras, North Carolina 27973.
