Salina Lynn Moose
Salina Lynn Moose, 59, of Nags Head, NC, courageously battled ovarian cancer before she passed away September 19, 2023 at her home. She was born on March 11, 1964, in Statesville, NC. Salina graduated from West Iredell High School in 1982 and graduated from Mitchell Community College with a BA degree.
Salina married Michelle R. Miller on October 15, 2016, on the beach in Nags Head, NC. Salina had an 18-year career at Hunt Bienfang Corp in Statesville, NC. For three years, she worked as an Operations Manager for Sound Feet Shoes in Nags Head, NC. Salina worked at Kitty Hawk Kites as a store manager in Nags Head, NC, and as a warehouse manager in Kill Devil Hills, NC, for almost 18 years. She is predeceased by her father, Kenneth Jack Moose, and her mother, Margaret Theresa Brown Moose, her sister, Lisa Money, and brother-in-law, Tim Williams.
Survivors in addition to her wife, Michelle Miller include her son, Kolten D. Miller (age 13), of the residence; a sister, Rhona L. Williams of Statesville, NC; and three nieces and a nephew also of Statesville, NC (Jennifer Ayers, Sarah Davidson, Anna Money and Chris Bolick.) Also surviving is Salina’s brother-in-law, Robert Money; and uncles Lannie Brown (Jean) of Troutman, NC, and Bobby Moose of Loray, NC, as well as many cousins. Salina has many friends and family members that she loved and cherished. She felt lucky to have had the time to visit with many of them and tell them what they meant to her before she passed.
If you knew Salina, you know she had impeccable timing with her jokes. She was very witty and had a wonderful, dry sense of humor. She loved to go to the beach at Pea Island on the Outer Banks and shoot hoops with her son—really doing anything with him as he was the center of her universe. She had a fierce work ethic. Salina was incredibly strong during her fight with ovarian cancer for seven years.
Michelle is honoring Salina’s directives for cremation. No memorial services are planned, but a celebration of Salina’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (OCRA) on Salina’s tribute page at https://tribute.ocrahope.org/salinamoose. Sentiments of love and sympathy may be shared with the family at www.gallopfuneralservices.com. Gallop Funeral Services was entrusted with arrangements.

WE, the Chief Logan Alumni, offer our condolences to Michelle Miller on the passing of her Salina love........ Michelle was an alumnus of Chief Logan which is located in Lewistown, Pa.
Although Salina and I didn’t always see eye to eye at work, we came to respect each other a great deal. In fact, I’m fairly sure she respected me more for standing up to her sometimes. She was tough and no nonsense. She was a leader and a trend setter. She was a serious person who genuinely did her best. I’m sad to see of her passing - way too soon. Hey Michelle & Kolton and Go PSU. Love, Nick
I only knew Salina professionally, through Kitty Hawk Kites, but her presence was profound, and I have nothing but the utmost respect for her. Sorry I missed the opportunity to share tequila....Big warm hugs all around.
My Deepest Sympathy to Michelle,Kolten and Family and Friends.Sincerely Julia
I’m so sorry for your loss I had the pleasure of working with her at Kitty Hawk kites warehouse in the winter. She truly was a great person.
Salina never did anything halfway, Either as a friend or a co-worker you knew she was all in. Worked with Jack as well for years. May God bring peace to your family knowing you never gave up the fight. You will be missed. Thanks for all you taught me all those years ago!
My friend, my sister, my teacher. This woman was one of the strongest persons I have ever known. We went through so much together. I will miss her as long as I have breath in my body. She was my mentor in work, the general things of life, and a friend that I could always count on. If you knew her then you were a privileged person. To know her was something that you could count on. Her sarcasm was to be respected, because it was just her style. If you couldn't handle that then you couldn't handle her. My heart breaks without her in this world. Our time together was always special, but I am fortunate that I know her family. I will always treasure my relationship with Michelle and Kolten. ❤️💙
My heart goes out to you. I pray you are able to find strength and comfort during this tremendously difficult time. Even when it seems impossible to hope for, I pray you will receive what you need to pull you through. Sincerely, Angela

Although we reconnected later in life, I just recently found some of the high school letters we all passed to one another... and some from Salina brought me right back to that time at Centerville. She will be missed. She was a loving, fiercely loyal, amazing friend. Peace and healing to you all during this immensely sad time. <3
Our thoughts & prayers go out to Michelle, Kolton and all of Salin’s family and friends. We were fortunate to know Salina as a family friend & a co worker. Remember the first time she experienced the Outer Banks, it was love at first sight. Eventually, fate smiled and she was able to made it her home. Salina was an amazing individual. She shared true compassion for others, amidst her own battles. May God give you strength and peace during this most difficult time. Sincerely, Teressa, Benny & all the Hopkins family
