Ronald John Diefert
Kill Devil Hills- Ronald John Diefert, 76, passed away June 9, 2016 at Sentara Heart Hospital. He was the son of the late Albert Diefert and Ann Diefert and was also predeceased by his brother Albert R. Diefert.
Ronald was retired from Campbell Foundry Co. and Emporia Foundry Inc. as General Plant Manager after 46 years of service. He served the Army, the Virginia National Guard, and the Greenville Volunteer Rescue Squad for 20 years attaining Master Member status. He recently served in the US Coast Guard Auxiliary, elected as Flotilla Commander of the Outer Banks Flotilla 1607 with 9 years service. Ronald was also a member of Grace By the Sea Lutheran Church, Nags Head, NC.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Paula Diefert; his daughter, Suzanne Diefert Matthews, son-in-law, James Matthews; his son, Ronald W. Diefert, daughter-in-law, Brenda Diefert; and his granddaughter, Brysen Diefert.
The memorial service will be held at Grace By the Sea Lutheran Church 11am, Sataurday, June 18, 2016. The family gratefully suggests that donations be made to Grace Lutheran Church.
