Robert C. Isaacs, Jr.

March 19, 2024

Robert Calloway Isaacs also known as “Murph” or “Bobby” left us in the wee hours of Tuesday March 19, 2024. He passed quietly and peacefully at home with wife, Donna and sister, Jean by his side.

Murph was born on August 13, 1939 in Columbus, Ohio to Robert and Josephine McClarry Isaacs.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Josephine, Laura Mae, Sharon, Linda and Janet, and his best friend, Charles Cohoon.

Murph had a long history of service to the country, city, and town that he loved. First, he served as a US marine; second as a firefighter in Annapolis, MD; and later as an ACO/PD in Nags Head, NC.  More recently he worked at the Outer Banks Hospital as a security guard.

Murph had a love of sports and played basketball in high school. He was a Washington Redskins football fan. Being with friends and family was so important to him whether it be at church, home, or any other social gathering. His laugh and generous ways will be remembered by many.

Murph will be missed by so many folks as evidenced here this evening but especially by his cherished wife Donna; sisters, Jean and Shirley; son, Rob (Deb); daughter Gina (Charles); stepson Scott (Leigh); six grandkids Charlie, Tony, Callie, Kalila, Killian, and Grayson. Murph also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.

Murph’s memorial service will be held at Gallop Funeral Chapel in Nags Head, NC Saturday March 23, 2024 at 5 pm. Plans are pending for a spring celebratory gathering.  Please share an expression of comfort with the family at http://www.gallopfuneralservices.com. Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. was entrusted with arrangements.
