Richard Nugent

Ashburn, VA – Richard Nugent, a former longtime resident of Southern Shores, NC, was born on October 8, 1931 and passed away on November 13, 2017.  Richard was 86, and proudly served in the United States Marines before embarking on a successful law career. He was predeceased by his wife Maureen and his son Mathew.

Left to hold his memory in their hearts are his four children, daughter Barbara Mattson and her husband Philip, son Richard and his partner Pierre, son Kevin and grandson Eric, and daughter Maureen; grandchildren Carolyn Saylors and her husband Louis and their children Madeleine and Benjamin, Jennifer Baker, Lauren Smith and her husband Allen and children Austin and newborn Juliette.

The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at the Holy Redeemer By the Sea church in Kitty Hawk, NC on Wednesday November 15, 2017 at 9:00 am. Following the Mass, the committal and interment will be held at Southern Shores Cemetery.
