  1. I send my condolences, I was a friend of Rich’s and his carpentry buddy Neil in Yellowstone in 1976. I am so sorry for your loss but it’s lovely to know he found the love of his life and got to experience the joy of parenting too.

  2. I would like to send my deepest condolences to the Lentini family. Though I only knew Richard for eighteen years he will be greatly missed. Rest In Peace my friend.

Richard G. Lentini

December 11, 2021

Richard G. Lentini passed away unexpectedly at his home in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina on December 11, 2021. Richard was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA and graduated from Norfolk Catholic High School in 1967.  He then pursued a career as a carpenter and completed his apprenticeship through the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. He went on to continue his carpentry career while spending 10 years as a park ranger at Yellowstone National Park.

He enjoyed working in his wood shop, surfing, floating on the river and some of that time, fly fishing.  The outdoors were always his greatest passion and a place where his spirit was free, alive and at peace.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte and her daughters, Stephanie Melton and Angelique Pattillo; her son, Michael, his wife Cayla and their children, Michaela, Gracen and Jonah Lentini. Other close family surviving Richard are Zion Pattillo, Emily Moyer and Angelika Melton.

In respect of his wishes, he will be cremated, and the family will not be holding services at this time.  The family respectfully requests no gifts, flowers or perishable items and would prefer to receive photographs of Richard and his life encounters.

“Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love”
– Lamentations 3:32
