Richard Clyde Miller Sr

October 4, 2014

Aydlett- Richard Clyde Miller Sr., 71, of Aydlett, NC entered heaven on October 4, 2014. Richard, son of Marguerite and Elwood, loving husband of Evelyn Blair Miller, passed away at his home in Aydlett, NC after a long battle with Multiple Myeloma.

He is survived by his wife Evelyn, his brother Gary, three children: Michelle Renee (42), Richard Clyde Jr. (38) and James Matthew (30) and grandson Joseph Sawyer (7).

Richard was active in his local church and always held a strong faith. He served as a Sergeant in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Richard had a great love for his family, his career, and his close circle of friends who were there every step of the way. As a contractor, land developer, and real estate broker, he truly encompassed what it means to be a Renaissance Man. Richard always maintained a painfully optimistic attitude about life and love. Never one to let sadness reign, Richard was the man to put a smile on your face and remind you how life can only get better if you let it. We know he is smiling down on us from heaven, hopefully with his golf clubs in hand, because we still know how much he needs to work on his putts.

A celebration of Richard’s life will be held Sunday October 12, 2104 at 2 PM at Coinjock Baptist Church in Currituck.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the MMRF (Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation) or Coinjock Baptist Church Youth Program.

Condolences to the Miller family may be expressed via the on-line register at www.gallopfuneralservices.com. Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. was entrusted with arrangements.
