Redden Banks “RB” Perry, Jr.

Redden Banks Perry, Jr. of Kitty Hawk, NC- or “RB Jr.” as he was best known, passed away in Barco, NC September 14, 2025 after a long battle with a serious lung illness. RB Jr. was 61 and preceded in death by his father, Redden B. “RB” Perry, Sr.

Born in Norfolk, VA and raised in Kitty Hawk;  RB was a true outdoorsman.  He especially loved anything on the water including fishing, trapping, boating, and swimming.  After completing his education, RB went right to work managing framing for JC Baker Construction.  He and JC became close friends and coworkers, building countless custom homes throughout Corolla and the Outer Banks.  RB maintained his employment with JC Baker Construction for most of his adult life and was extremely proud of his craft.

More recently, RB Jr. enjoyed quiet times with his mother, Catherleen “Susie” Baum Perry of Kitty Hawk, who cared for him from his diagnosis until his final breath.  In addition to his mother, RB is survived by his two devoted sisters, Mary Daniels, also of Kitty Hawk, and Charlotte Perry Brinkley of Hertford, NC; his twin brothers, Michael Ray Perry (Judy) and Larry Gene Perry both of Spotsylvania, VA  and their families; as well as a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

RB’s personal directives for cremation will be honored and plans for a private memorial gathering are pending at this time. In lieu of flowers, the Perry family would greatly appreciate if Susie could be directly blessed with your love offerings to assist her as she copes with her son’s death.
