Peter Paul Sheplee

Kill Devil Hills – Peter Paul Sheplee, 66, of Kill Devil Hills, NC passed away peacefully after numerous health challenges April 17, 2018 in Virginia Beach, VA.

Peter was born in Washington, DC.  He was the son of the late George and Sylvia Sheplee.  Peter was raised in Silver Spring Maryland.  He was a high school athlete in several sports.  After graduation, Peter was employed with Montgomery County public school system, from which he retired.

Peter relocated to the Outer Banks in 1994 to enjoy his retirement. Peter met and married Sallie, while driving school busses together.  Locally, Peter worked at Sea Scape Beach and Golf Villas as director of security.  In his spare time, Peter loved fishing, video gaming and an occasional libation.  Peter leaves behind memories of a wonderful sense of humor.

Survivors include his wife, Sallie Sheplee of over 20 years of the Kill Devil Hills residence; two stepsons, John Ammen, IV of Kill Devil Hills and Mark Ammen of Hedgesville, WV; two sisters, Nancy Hanigan of Montgomery County, MD and Sandra Heaton of Rockville, MD; and one brother, Patrick Sheplee of Columbia, MD. Peter is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and extended family members and friends.

In accordance with Peters wishes, no services are planned. The family invites friends to send photos, cards, memories and stories to jnammen@gmail.com so the family can compile and publish a memorial journal celebrating his life.
