  7. Dear Darlene and Bubba,
Please accept our humble sympathy in the passing of your mother. She was admired, loved, and respected by us as she was the life of the family and had a strong constitution that will live on through her family and others. She sacrificed for her family and worked tirelessly to give of herself, and now God has chosen her to be received in heaven. While we shed our tears Patsy is rejoicing. Wish we could be there with you, however Jenny, Cecylia (her daugher) and I (your cousin Hazel} has an appointment in Baltimore tomorrow, for our granddaughter at a hospital in MD that we must go too, otherwise we would be at her service. But just know that our thoughts are with you both and the rest of the family.
    Love to All,
    Hazel & Norman Parron

  9. Although I was unable to meet your mom in person, we spoke on the phone many times and stayed in touch through email and Facebook. “Dr. Patsy” was a blessing to this world.

  10. What a beautiful part of God’s family! Dr. Patsy was so very outstandingly wonderful. The first time she came to my house for a Food-Coop party, the first thing she did when she walked in was to sit down at the piano and begin playing and sharing magnificent music. I went to see who was playing and there was Dr. Patsy! All over the piano! This was her life as I recall, all over life, all over the beauty of it all; the health, the healing, and the compassion. She was so helpful in so many ways, a health healer mentor and a loving guide, and an encouraging counselor!
I am so appreciative of memories of her.
    Love to all,
    Sarah

  14. When I think of Dr. Patsy, two words come to mind. Love and Joy, she was filled with both. My prayers are for God’s peace and comfort to overwhelm each member of your family today and jn the coming weeks and months.

September 19, 2022

July 18, 1937 – September 19, 2022

Being confident of this very thing, that he which has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. – Philippians 1:6

Patricia Reynolds-Denny, formerly “Patsy Faye Thompson” has completed her journey on this earth and stepped into her eternal life with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, September 19, 2022.

Patsy, known personally as “The Herb Lady”, and professionally as “Dr. Patsy, N.D.”, owner of “A Natural Health Center” in Manteo NC, leaves a legacy of positive impact on all those she encountered throughout her life.

A native of Portsmouth, VA., Patricia was the daughter of the late John Walton Thompson Sr. and Doris Virginia Odom Thompson, and sister to the late John “Buddy” Thompson.

She loved to sing and dance, play the piano, and spend time with her family & friends.  Patsy loved to laugh and to teach natural healing, but most of all, she always loved others as Jesus Christ loved and shared the truth of God’s Word in her daily walk. She was such a treasure with a wonderful sense of humor and a real zest for life.

Cherishing her loving memory are two children, Darlene Thomsen Sells (Doug, son-in-love) and Darrell E. Thomsen, Jr (Kitty); six, grandchildren, Philip Brown (Mike), Jenni Scott (Billy), Melissa Miller (Tyler), Christine Thomsen (Sam), Matthew Thomsen, and Brian Sells (deceased); and seven great grandchildren, Wesley Sawyer, Justin Sawyer (Lynnsey), Daisy, Amy Miller, Callie Miller, Megan Sells, and Leah Sells.

A celebration of her life will take place on 2pm, Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Roanoke Island Presbyterian Church in Manteo with Chaplain Col. Darrell E. Thomsen, Jr., Ret. officiating.

A heartfelt thanks to the “Adoration Hospice Team”, and to family & friends caring for Patsy during this time. In lieu of flowers please send a contribution to unionmissionministries.org  – The Union Mission Ministries, 5100 East Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk, VA, 23502, (757-627-8686).
