Pamela A. Peters

Pamela A. Peters passed away peacefully on the evening of Sunday, December 8, 2024.
Pamela was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Lee and Mae Anderson. She grew up in Tabernacle Baptist Church, where her parents were charter members. In her time there, she was active in many programs including the Girls in Action program, which led to her spending many summers as a counselor and lifeguard at Camp Wo-Me-To, where she met the love of her life, Bob. After moving to Middle Rive Baptist church Pamela was active in many groups, including teaching children’s Sunday school and VBS, playing piano for the children’s choir and other groups, helping with the youth group, and being ready to bake anything or volunteer wherever she was needed.
Pam attended the University of Maryland, College Park where she received her degree in elementary education. She taught various grade levels in both Prince George’s and Baltimore counties, at Rose Valley Elementary and Mars Estates Elementary. Eventually she moved into administration full-time as an assistant principal at Carol Manor Elementary, Halsted Academy, and Pretty Boy Elementary.
Her love of the beach began as a child when she would visit her aunt and uncle on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Pam’s favorite vacations involved having her toes in the sand, whether at Ocean City, Maryland or the Outer Banks.
In retirement she and Bob moved full-time to their beach house in Corolla where she enjoyed spending time out in the sand. She volunteered with the Network for Endangered Sea Turtles, helping to ensure nests were protected and the babies had a chance to make it to the ocean. Her love of teaching led to her volunteering at The Historic Whalehead Club, giving various types of tours and eventually helping to develop a tour for children. She often played host to her family and friends, making many memories up and down the beach.
She will be missed by her husband, Bob; mother-in-law, Dorris; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Donald and Debbie; son, Rob; and grandsons, Robbie and Carl. The family would like to thank the staff of The Cottage at Spring Arbor and Albemarle Hospice for their loving care.
A memorial service will be held on January 10, 2025 at Immanual Baptist Church in Baltimore, Maryland at 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Corolla Volunteer Fire and Rescue. Please share words of comfort with the family at gallopfuneralservices.com. Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. was entrusted with arrangements.
