Novella Midgett Burton

Manteo – Novella Midgett Burton 89, of  Manteo, North Carolina died December 13 at Colony Ridge nursing home in Nags Head, NC.  She was a member of Haven Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Novella was the daughter of the late Ralph and Carthenia Midgett. Novella was preceded in death by her younger sisters, Jessie Berry and Sylister Berry.

She is survived by her daughter Barbara Burton Pledger of Manteo, NC two grandchildren Zenia (Michael) Fournier or Great Bridge VA; Nakia (Almisa) Pledger of Virginia Beach, Va.; three great grandchildren Reagon McGill of Great Bridge, Virginia and twins, Armani and Ashanti Pledger of Virginia Beach Virginia. Berry. Also surviving are her Sisters-n-laws Lovey Moore, Mable Govan Porter, Ethel Bowser, Gloria Burton, Connie Selby, Aquilla (Matthew), and Priscilla Hardy all of Manteo, NC.

The funeral will be held Thursday December 18 at 1 pm at Haven Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Friends may view one hour prior. Pastor Ray A. Hill will officiate and burial will follow at Haven Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Novella’s home. Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. was entrusted with arrangements.
