Nicholas Joseph Flowers
Kill Devil Hills – It is with deep sadness we announce that on May 6, 2024 Nicholas Joseph Flowers, 80, gained his heavenly wings. Nick was born November 2,1943 and was an amazing man who always put his family first.
During his earlier years he was a top contender in Chess Life Magazine, a wonderful artist, singer and held perfect pitch in musical instruments. Nick held two different Engineering Degrees from Geneva College and he traveled throughout the United States and other countries throughout doing engineering jobs. Although he had many different job offers from all over, he had a high position at Infilco Degremont in Richmond, VA before retiring in the Outer Banks North Carolina with his wife in 2011.
Nicks death was very unexpected, and his family will forever miss him. He is preceded in death by his, wife Vonnie Flowers. Nick leaves behind his daughter, Michelle Flowers Saunders; son, Robin Flowers; son-in-law Christopher Saunders; granddaughter, Brielle Cheyenne Loper; grandson Skylar Nicholas Saunders; and great-grandson Elias Reign Pinkstone.
No services are planned at this time. Arrangements were entrusted to Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. Condolences to the family may be expressed via the on-line registry at www.gallopfuneralservices.com

I worked with Nick and will miss him. He loved to play chess and othello. He was gentle and very smart. Even though his degree was mechanical engineering he was an outstanding electrical engineer. Nick loved going to Paris for work and having steak with French fries at a local restaurant. Nick had a recumbent bike that he road a few times. Nick was always into computers, he would use excel as a word processor. He always remembered Vonnie. To Michelle and Robbie, I am sorry for your loss.
