Melissa Lee Wright

Southern Shores- Melissa Lee Wright, 52, died Thursday, January 31, 2013 at her sister’s residence after a three and a half year battle with cancer. She was employed by Dare County EMS for 23 years.

She had the opportunity to travel the world and live life to its fullest as you can see from the above picture. Her hobbies were vacationing, vacationing, and vacationing. She was blessed with so many friends. She dearly loved her EMS family.

Her parents , Betty and Cecil Lyon kicked the bucket a few years ago. She is survived by her husband Duncan Wright of Southern Shores, her daughter Lindsey Wright, her dog Peanut, daughter, Shannon Lewis of KDH, son Jason Dohrman of Crystal Beach, TX, sister Melony Sillis of Southern Shores, brothers Roger Lyon of Myrtle Beach, SC and Jeff Lyon of Decatur IN, grandson Zeke Silverthorne, and granddaughter Scarlet Lewis.

A celebration of life will be held at the residence, 49 Duck Woods Dr., Southern Shores on Sunday February 10 at 2pm with beer, wine and heavy hors d’oeuvre; rain or shine. Park along the road side. Donations should be made in Melissa’s name to the Dare County SPCA. Flowers and beer should be sent to the residence.
