My sincere condolences to Mary's family. I loved Mary. Her hugs were a treasure. SHE was a treasure. We were friends from my time at the library and we wrote notes and cards to each other sharing our Faith and love of hymns after she left the area. I'm thankful to have known her.
Our Dear Armenta, Menta, Sasha and Family, You all are in our prayers and thoughts during this most difficulty time of transition (1 Peter 5:7). Mother Conway lived a life of that of a Virtuous Woman. To be absent from the body is to be presented with the Lord and their is no greater reward she could receive on September 22nd, 2022 then to be at the right hand of the Father. With Christian Love, Sadie, Algie, Juney, Rocki and Andre' Lamont Hill
Truly sorry to her that Mrs. Mary passed away. She was such a sweet and gentle person. Sending prayers to all her family and friends.
Armenta and family, I want to tell you about Aunt Mary and my meetings in Manteo in the summertimes. Those were totally happy days. She knew she was Number One as soon as her feet touch the green green grass of home. At least she called my name enough every day as if I thought she was number one. Aunt Mary knew that her every wish was all her nieces and nephews command. Whatever and wherever she wanted she got and went. From eating Drum fish to beans and biscuits; to riding up to the old watering hole to across the brand new bridge going to Oregon Inlet. If her friends moved too slow and hadn’t visited her, she would just pick up the telephone and call them. In her proper voice, “Hello, this is Mary Conway. Where are you?” I knew Aunt Mary had got tired and was lonely for Greathen, Sis, Sido, Willie, Jimmy, Honey, Jerry Bell, Lindsay and Ida Mae mostly her mom Cora Mcclease. Rest with your sisters and brothers and your Mother Aunt Mary. You taught me all you could about the family and I will never forget or stop loving you.
What a lovely lady Ms. Mary was! I never saw her without that gentle smile. While I wasn’t fortunate enough to know her well, we shared beliefs and ideas and I admired and respected her very much. Her kind spirit touched many people. I will remember her always.
