Mary Farrow Curles

Hatteras- Mary Farrow Curles, 76 went to be with the Lord on December 1, 2012 at the Currituck House. Ms. Curles, a Hatteras native, was born on November 4, 1936 to the late Lester B. Farrow, Sr. and the late Salina Gaskins Farrow. She was preceded in death by two sisters Janet Farrow Foster and Jean Bunting and two brothers Buster Farrow and Johnny Farrow.

Surviving Mary Curles are her four sons; Velton Austin, Jr. and wife Sharon, Alphe Austin and wife Debbie, Richard Austin and wife Rebecca, and James Kelley, II and wife Trena. Ms. Curles is also survived by her brother Dick Farrow and her sisters Carolyn Parker and Barbara Bunting. Also left to cherish her memory are her nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at Cape Hatteras Baptist Church Tuesday December 4, 2012 at 11 O’clock am. Viewing will be one hour prior. The Reverend Russ Howard and the Reverend Dwight Burris will officiate. A private burial will be held at the Farrow Family Cemetery in Frisco.

The family extends special thanks to Ms. Curles’ hospice nurse Amber Lane, and the staff of the Currituck House. The family suggests that memorial donations in honor of Mary Curles be made to the Currituck House 141 Moyock Landing Drive Moyock, NC 27958 and/or to Community Healthcare and Hospice 1601 N. Road Street Suite B, Elizabeth City, NC 27909.
