Marcella A. Bennett

Aydlett- Marcella A. Bennett 61, passed away unexpectedly in Chesapeake, VA Sunday February 17, 2019.  She was the wife of the late Neil Bennett, Sr. and the daughter of the late Louis and Vail Petrushunas. Marcella was also predeceased by her granddaughter, Patricia Perkins.

Marcella was originally from the Cherry Hill, New Jersey area. She met and married the love of her life, Neil and the young couple moved to North Carolina to raise their family. Marcella’s love and devotion to her husband and children will always be remembered.

The survivors include her daughter Stacey Perkins of Fort Meyers, FL; her son, Neil C. Bennett, Jr. and wife Martina of Camden, NC, her daughter, Tina Mims and husband, Mark of Aydlett, NC, and her daughter Amanda Bennett and partner, Todd Merrell also of Aydlett, NC; nine grandchildren, Emma Mims, Jacob Mims, Paeton Vaughn, Jackson Byrd, Olivia Byrd, Neil Z. Bennett, Nicole Bennett, Tony Rios, Nick Rios; and several other relatives, extended family members, and friends of the family.

In accordance with Marcella’s wishes she will be cremated and there are no services planned. The family will commit her remains privately.  In lieu of flowers the family gratefully suggests that memorial donations in Marcella’s memory be made to S.H.A.R.E (Southern Hope Animal Rescue and Education).
