Mabel Ann O’Reilly

Avon, NC – Mabel Ann O’Reilly, 56, passed away on Sunday, July 26th, 2015. Born in Elizabeth City, NC she was the daughter of Mary Jane Scarborough and the late Curtis Scarborough.  She is survived by her daughter, Lindsey Nicole O’Reilly; longtime companion Steve Sanford; sisters Juanita Scarborough and husband Hal, Patty Scarborough and Esther Scarborough;  Her niece, Kimberly Brinson and husband Rodney Brinson of Buxton, North Carolina and nephew Hallas Carl Scarborough and Stephanie Doshier of Nags Head, NC.  She also leaves behind a number of great nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and family.

Mabel will be forever missed by the many who loved her.  Her laugh, smile and beauty are just a few qualities that many would remember her most by.

A funeral service will be held at St. John’s United Methodist Church in Avon, NC on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 2 pm with Pastor Benjamin Wolf officiating. Reception immediately following the service. A private burial will take place in the family cemetery in Avon, NC.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gallop Funeral Services,Inc. Nags Head to assist the family with the funeral costs.
