Lynn Holloman Miller

Point Harbor- Lynn Holloman Miller went to meet her Lord December 10, 2018 at her Point Harbor residence surrounded by the family she cherished. Lynn was born in Pittsburgh, PA April 15, 1936.  She was the daughter of the late Evelyn and Lanier Holloman. Lynn was also predeceased by her son Steven Miller and her sister Sara Truelove.

A gifted educator, Lynn had a long and successful career teaching young people in the Hempfield, PA public school system. After Lynn and Howard moved to the Outer Banks, Lynn continued to be a civic contributor.  She was extensively involved in several local organizations including the Master Gardeners of Currituck and the Coast Guard Auxilliary.  Lynn was also awarded the prestigious North Carolina Governors Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service.  Lynn and Howard were active members of Outer Banks Presbyterian Church were Lynn served in many church committees and ministries.  She was particularly proud of her work in the Knitting Group crafting Shawls for local nursing home residents and her long affiliation with PEO International. Lynn leaves a legacy of love, friendship, and service which she didn’t have time to completely fulfill.

Surviving Lynn Miller is her husband of over 60 years Howard B. Miller of the Point Harbor home; her daughter Diana Miller of Ruffs Dale, PA; her son Scott Miller (Tracey) of Columbia, SC; her sister Sydney Dohring of Lancaster, PA; her brother David Holloman of Irwin, PA; her two grandchildren, Michayla Miller and Logan Miller also of Columbia, SC; her numerous extended family members, in-laws, her OBPC family, and a host of dear friends.

A celebration of Lynn’s Life will be held at Outer Banks Presbyterian Church Monday December 17, 2018 at 11 am with the Reverend Jody Moore officiating. In lieu of flowers the family gratefully suggests that memorial donations in Lynn’s honor be made to the Currituck County SPCA or to any local animal shelter.
