Lucy “Page” Nichols

August 30, 2018

Lucy “Page” Nichols died peacefully in in her home on August 30, 2018 at the age of 67 after a short battle with cancer.

Page was born on December 4th, 1950 in Petersburg, Virginia to Dransfield and Fredrika (Hubbard) Nichols, the eldest of five children. As a young adult, she moved to the Outer Banks of North Carolina–a place and community she was proud to call home. After time, Page had her son West, and he was her greatest pride. Her son will remember her as a greatly supportive mother, with dry wit and a great love of filling his house with antiques.

Gifted in many ways, her family knew Page as the talented one capable of anything from mosaic-making to jewelry crafting to furniture restoration. She was a dedicated individual who loved history and who was passionate about her family genealogy. An excellent cook as well, she combined two of her passions and helped write a family cookbook. She will be greatly missed by her family and remembered fondly by everyone who knew her.

Page is survived by her son and greatest joy, West Nichols, her four siblings; Hunter (Carol) Nichols, James Nichols, Rebekah Nichols, and Amie (Pat) Wilcox as well as enough cousins, nieces, and nephews to make any southerner proud. She now joins her parents, Dransfield and Fredrika (Hubbard) Nichols.

There will be a memorial service held on September 5th, from 12-2 at Elizabethan Gardens, located at 1411 National Park Drive, Manteo, NC 27954. Guests are encouraged to send or bring their favorite flower arrangement to honor Page as they celebrate her life over one last shared meal of her favorite BBQ. Casual dress. Ladies can expect to receive a small token of remembrance, made by Page.
