Kay Norman White

Kitty Hawk – Kay Norman White, 80, of Kitty Hawk passed away at his home January 8, 2018. He was predeceased by his beloved son, Barry White and by two siblings.
Kay was born in King, NC and graduated from Maury High School in Norfolk, VA in 1956. He went on to work with the FBI in Washington, DC for five years. Kay then joined the HRT Bus Company of Norfolk, VA where he worked for 36 years as a street supervisor.
Retirement brought Kay and his wife Ann to Kitty Hawk where he enjoyed fishing at the Kitty Hawk Pier, traveling, camping and living the “Snow Bird” life in the Florida Keys.
Kay’s survivors include his wife, Ann Barrett White of the Kitty Hawk residence; his son Jeffrey White of Moyock, NC; his daughter, Christie White McGowan and her husband David McGowan of Yorktown, VA; two grandchildren, Nicole London and Adam White; two great-grandchildren Zachary London and Austin London; and all his cousins and family in King, NC.
Friends and family may gather at the Gallop Memorial Chapel Nags Head (MP 15.5) Saturday January 13, 2018 from 1 to 3 pm. Memorial donations are welcome at the Dare County SPCA in lieu of flowers.
The family sends special thanks to the Dare County Hospice Angels and Kitty Hawk Fire Department. Kay wanted everyone to know he’s gone fishing and hopes he’s a keeper. Tight Lines – Kay.
