John T. “Johnny” Hamilton

June 29, 2024

John Thomas Hamilton, 74, passed away June 29, 2024 after a short illness. “Johnny” as most knew him, was predeceased by his grandparents and his parents.

A proud 82nd Airborne Army veteran- Johnny was stationed at Fort Bragg, NC. After serving honorably in the Army, Johnny worked and retired from Plassar American Corporation. Following his retirement, Johnny and his wife, Sue moved to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Johnny loved golf and playing pool.  He was also a die-hard Noth Carolina Tar Heels fan!

Left to cherish Johnny’s memory is his wife of 52 years, Sue; his two sons, Tommy (Lisa), and Joey and partner, Angel and son, Ethan; his grandson, Justin (whom he adored); his sister, Carol Beaver (Dale); his sister-in-law, Cheri (Joe); his two nephews, Eric Beaver (Selena) and son, Evan, and Bryon (Nikki); and his life-long friends, Clyde and Carolyn Bullock, Charlie and Donna Slate, and Jerry and Liz Muterspaugh.

Johnny would say, “Thank you for being my friend.”

At Johnny’s request a private service with military honors will be held at Albert G. Horton Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, VA.
