Jimmie Ray Rogers

February 2, 2024

Jimmie Ray Rogers, Sr., 49, of Currituck County, North Carolina, passed away at home peacefully late Thursday evening, February 1, 2024 with his loving brother and sister by his side.

Jimmie was born March 9th, 1974 in San Diego, California to a military household. He moved several times over the course of his childhood before he and his family finally settled in Currituck County, North Carolina, which he made his home for the remainder of his life. He achieved many major life milestones during his time in Currituck: Jimmie graduated high school, got married, bought a home, and raised his family there. He was a fixture in the community, known for his ability to bring levity to almost any situation with his charming sense of humor. His loss will be felt by many.

He worked many jobs over the span of his life, spending the last 10+ years working for City Beverage based in Elizabeth City, NC as both an operator/driver and a warehouse manager. His hobbies and passions were very eclectic, he loved football and supporting the Chargers, Nascar racing, fishing, and other outdoor activities, watching movies, playing video games, and cooking. More than anything, he was a big believer in traditional family values, and his immediate and extended families were all very important to him. He made a constant effort to be a part of their lives and was very close with all of them.

Jimmie is preceded in death by his parents, Danny and Linda, of Texas. Jimmie is survived by son, Jimmie Jr (Celine) of Washington State; son, Danny (Mara) of Virginia; daughter, Crystal, of Texas; sister, Angel (Robert) of Texas; twin brother, Jamie (Gail), of North Carolina; niece, Clarissa (Desmond) of Texas; nephews, Codie, of North Carolina, Jesse of Alabama, Robert, of Texas; and great-niece and great-nephews, Bailee, Daniel, and Miles.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service in Jimmie’s honor Friday February 9, 2024 at 6 pm at Waterview Shores Park. A reception will follow the service. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to all those who have offered their love and support the past few days.
