Jimmie Lee Jones

June 1, 2016

Frisco – Jimmie was a long time resident of Albuquerque with her husband Robert Davis Jones who preceded her in death in 2006. Originally from Anson, Texas she met and married Bob Jones, both from early Texas families. They moved to Gallup, NM in the early 50’s and finally to Albuquerque in the early 1960’s. Jimmie lived through some tough health challenges in her time. An early breast cancer survivor in the 60’s and finally years of kidney dialysis, she liked to brag that she was the longest living dialysis patient at Lovelace Clinic. She was a strong woman and her pioneer stock was very evident.

Jimmie was a resident of Los Colinas Retirement Village until 2014 when she moved to Frisco, NC and the home of her daughter, Brenda. Her friends and family were amazed that she wound up at the beach after spending her life in the arid southwest! She enjoyed seeing the rain and storms that come with beach living and the beautiful azaleas, crepe myrtles and camellias.

Jimmie leaves behind three children and their spouses – Linda and Cleve Pillifant of Palmyra, Virginia, Joel and Jennifer Jones of El Paso, Texas, and Brenda and Albert Buciorelli of Frisco, North Carolina. She felt blessed to have lived to see her children marry and have families. She is survived by 5 grandchildren – Andrew and wife Tiffany Pillifant, Melissa and her husband Courtney Whitehead, Jessica, Bobby and Brett Jones and 6 great-grandchildren – Jacob, Lael, Nathan, Ruby, Oscar and Miles.

At Jimmie’s request inurnment with Bob at Santa Fe National Cemetery will follow at a later date.

Memorial donations can be sent to American Cancer Society Reach to Recovery Program or American Kidney Fund for Bioartificial Kidney Research.
