James Paul Getty

Kill Devil Hills- James “Jimmy” Paul Getty of Kill Devil Hills died in Norfolk Sunday March 13, 2016 after bravely battling a chronic illness.  Jimmy was the son of the late James Dean and Shirley Ann Getty.  Jimmy was born in Bellville, New Jersey August 5, 1971.  He worked hard and enjoyed his life.  Mechanically inclined, Jimmy enjoyed working on engines and other devices.

Here in the Outer Banks, Jimmy worked at CarQuest auto parts shop with his best friend, brother, and loyal caregiver, Steven Getty.  Jimmy and Steve not only worked together, but cared for their parents together and experienced the happiness of the beach life together.

Besides his brother Steve, Jimmy leaves behind many extended family members, devoted friends, and faithful customers who will surely miss his humor and wisdom.
