James Howard Flynn

Kill Devil Hills – James Howard Flynn, 46 passed away suddenly at his home Saturday, February 11, 2017.  He was the son of the late Louise Harshaw. James was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan April 26, 1970.

Before moving to Kill Devil Hills eight years ago, James resided and worked in Ohio where he met and married the love of his life, Carlene.  Locally, James was employed with Kellogg Supply Company in Manteo in the sales department. In his spare time, he loved his football, taking his son fishing and spending time with his wife. James will be remembered most for his steadfast devotion to his family and for being a down-to-earth, laid back kind of guy.

Left to cherish James’ memory is his wife Carlene of Kill Devil Hills; his son, Ian also of Kill Devil Hills; his father, Michael Flynn (Karen) of Royal Oak, Michigan; three brothers, Nick Flynn (Christina) of Arizona, Spencer Flynn (Katie) of Ohio, and Ryan Flynn of Michigan; two sisters, Aubrey (Jim) of Michigan and Elle of Colorado, as well as four nephews and
four nieces.  Also surviving is James’ mother-in-law Jackie Sutton of Ohio; and his two brothers-in-law Max Sutton of Kill Devil Hills and Johnny Roberts (Melissa) of Ohio.

A memorial service is planned for Friday February 17, 2017 at 7 pm at the Gallop Chapel in Nags Head. Family and friends will gather from 5 pm to 7 pm at the funeral home.
