Gwendolyn R. Quidley

February 25, 2024

Gwendolyn Reber Quidley, a 79-year-old native of Wanchese, North Carolina departed her earthly residence February 25, 2024 with her family be her side. “Gwen” as she was called by family was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Loyd Quidley, Sr. and an infant son, Lyle Wayne Quidley. She was the daughter of the late Johnny H. Reber and Catherine Payne Reber of Wanchese, NC.

Gwen is survived by her three sons, Charles Loyd “CL” Quidley, Jr. of Manteo, NC; John Earl Quidley of Engelhard, NC, and David Wayne “Quid” Quidley Sr. of Manteo, NC; one granddaughter, Dixie Rose Quidley also of Manteo; four grandsons, Danny Wayne Quidley of Wanchese, Steven Charles Quidley of Manteo, Thomas Dillon Quidley of Engelhard, NC, and David Wayne “D.J.” Quidley, Jr. (Taylor Nichole) of Charlotte, NC; and three great-grandchildren Lillyana Marie Freeman, Savannah Skylee Quidley, and Alexander Charles Quidley.

Gwen was a loving homemaker caring for her family with unwavering devotion.  She was a pillar of strength and support for those she held dear. In lieu of flowers, Gwen’s wish is for everyone to go visit someone – even if its only for a minute.

The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date. Expressions of sympathy and support may be shared at www.gallopfuneralservices.com. Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. was entrusted with arrangements.
