Gladys M. Horton

Wanchese- Long time Outer Banks resident, Gladys M. Horton went home to her Lord on Friday February 3, 2012 in Nags Head, North Carolina. Gladys was born in Hornby, New York. She was the daughter of the late Holly Stephens and Eunice Stephens and the widow of Harry L. Horton.

Gladys was a member of Roanoke Island Baptist Church, serving faithfully in the church nursery for over 30 years. Besides enjoying time with her daughter and son, Gladys loved crocheting and sewing. She will be remembered for her hospitality and willingness to help others.

Left to cherish Gladys memory is her son Gary D. Horton (Nancy) of Manns Harbor, NC; her daughter, Georgia Ann Davis (Ron) of Corning, NY; one sister, Doris Fleming of Horseheads, NY; three grandchildren, Michelle Burgess, Heath Mack, and Tricia Pentacost; three great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Pentacost, Ethan Miller, and Dylan Burgess, and many special friends.

Plans for a memorial service in May at Roanoke Island Baptist Church are pending. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be forwarded to Roanoke Island Baptist Church. Condolences to the family may be expressed via the on-line register at www.gallopfuneralservices.com.
