Gladys Erina Walling Melvin

Nags Head- With sadness, we announce the death of Gladys Erina Walling Melvin, daughter of the late Sir Sydney and Gladys Walling, on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at her home in Nags Head, North Carolina.

Left to mourn Gladys is her husband, James; son, James Jr.; daughter, Shante; daughter-in-law, Esther; and two grandchildren; brothers; sisters; and many relatives and many very dear friends.

Calling hours will be held at Haven Creek Missionary Baptist Church, 611 Sir Walter Raleigh Street, Manteo, North Carolina on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

The funeral service will take place on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Mount Olivet United Methodist Church, 300 Ananias Dare Street, Manteo, North Carolina at 1:00 pm. Haven Creek Pastor Ray Hill will officiate. The committal service and interment will follow at Haven Creek Church Cemetery on Burnside Road in Manteo.
