Elton Young Green, Jr.

Kill Devil Hills- Elton Young Green, Jr. 65, peacefully passed on Saturday May 7th 2016 at his home in Kill Devil Hills, NC. Elton was a loving husband, brother, father and grandfather. He was a Vietnam War Veteran with the United States Army and a Superintendent for heavy highway construction contractors in Hampton Roads including EV Williams, Inc. and Branscome, Inc. He was a passionate fan of NASCAR racing, Duke Basketball, baseball, most college sports, spending time with his family, and fishing.

Elton was predeceased by his father Elton Young Green Sr., Mother Bertha Mae Parrish Green, and Brothers James and Alonza Green.

He is survived by his loving wife Deborah Durrette Green; two sons, Jason Green and friend Jessica Abernethy of Durham, NC, and Jacob & Camren Durrette of Clinton NC, and daughter Sarah & Corey Fleming and grandson Grayson of Chesterfield, VA.

Also surviving are friends and in-laws Jim and Betty Durrette of Gloucester, VA; brother-in-law Butch Durrette and wife Lori of Williamsburg, VA; a devoted nephew and niece Greg, Aileen and baby Wyatt Eskridge of Midlothian, VA, and Meredith, Clark, and baby Hollis Lay of Northern Virginia; three sisters, Nola Olive, Annie Barbour and Carolyn Whitley all of Clayton NC; five brothers Tom, Philip, Steve, and Larry of Clayton, and Mike of Virginia;  two brothers-in-law, five sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Elton loved his four legged companions Loopy, Poppy, and Lucky, and his 7 Grand-dogs.
