Earl Cleveland Weaver

April 14, 2016

Manteo-  Earl Cleveland Weaver, 73 died April 14, 2016 in Nags Head after a battle with lung cancer. Earl was born July 16, 1942, the son of the late Herman Weaver and Rebecca Cash Weaver of Roanoke Rapids, NC.

Earl served his country bravely in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1965 (during the Cuban Blockade).  He served aboard the USS Constellation (CVA-64) as a deckhand and cook. In later years he owned an automotive parts store and loved to fish.

Survivors include his two sons, Michael T. Weaver of Manteo, and Cale Glenn Weaver of Kill Devil Hills, his sons’ mothers Ira Burgess Witt of Franklin, VA and Scarlet Inez Prillamen also of Kill Devil Hills; one brother, Herman Weaver of Raleigh and several other extended family members.

The family will hold a private dockside  memorial service with military honors in the near future. Following the service, his sons will escort the urn off-shore aboard the True Grit where they will fish one line. At the appointed time the line will be cut at the reel allowing Dad’s ashes to slip from the rod- a release! We love you.

Condolences to the family may be expressed via the on-line register at www.gallopfuneralservices.com. Gallop Funeral Services Inc were entrusted with arrangements.
