Dr. Augustus E. Fricker, Jr.

Southern Shores – Dr. Augustus E. Fricker, Jr. VMD passed away in Nags Head Sunday, October 18, 2015 at the age of 75.

Augustus was born July 29, 1940 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Bud and Sara Jane Fricker. Augustus graduated from William Tennent High School in 1958. He went on the earn his Bachelors of Science degree from Drexel University in 1963 and his Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris (VMD) from the University of Pennsylvania in 1967.

Augustus was employed with the United States Department of Agriculture for over 30 years and also concurrently ran his own private veterinary practice. He served his community as a member of the Lulu Shriner’s Club of Plymouth Meeting, PA. Locally, Augustus was an active member the Outer Banks National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE).

Surviving Augustus Fricker, Jr. is his wife, Lorraine Fricker of Southern Shores; his brother, Ronald Fricker (Bea) of Duck; his two children, Laurel Esposito (Patrick) of Florida and Augustus (Ted) Fricker, III (Ruth) of Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Julian, Liam, Emma and Mara; and numerous extended family members and friends.

The funeral and visitation will be held in Plymouth Meeting, PA at Kirk & Nice Funeral Home on Friday, October 23, 2015. The burial will follow the service at George Washington Memorial Park.
