Dorothy Ruth Castle

Dorothy Ruth Banton Castle was born in Buckingham County Va on April 13,1937 and peacefully passed in Kill Devil Hills, NC on February 3, 2026.

Dorothy spent most of her adult life in Chesterfield County, Virginia. She was a very giving person and loved her family and friends. Her favorite season was spring when she could get outside and plant and cultivate her flower gardens. She loved sitting and watching the birds gather and feed.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband James Castle, her daughter Bonnie Simonick, and son James Bert Castle Jr., parents: Emmett and Lucy Banton, sisters Blanche Tyler and Mary Lou Kanary.

Survived by her daughter Wanda White (Rob) four grandchildren: Gale Holland (Randy), Jerry D Temple Jr., James Robert Castle (Heidi), Samantha Beiro (Riley), and Blake Montgomery (Danielle); 14 great grandchildren, and her dear friend Bob Beasley who she enjoyed spending time with.
