Dennis R. Scott

Grandy – Dennis R. Scott of Kill Devil Hills passed away May 30, 2016 at Chesapeake General Hospital.  Born in Newport News, VA, he was the son of William Durden Scott and Pirley Lee Pace, and the father of Heather L. Scott.

Dennis was a resident of the Outer Banks for 24 years- the island he would visit and catch some waves  in his teenage years.  He was a construction worker for many years and most recently was employed with Kmart in Kill Devil Hills.   Dennis was a very generous man that would give to anyone in need but would never ask for anything in his time of need.  He will be remembered as an all around hard working, great guy with a love of fishing and sharing good laughs with buddies.

Dennis R. Scott is survived by Heather Scott, his daughter; Christian Maring, his stepson; John Maring, his grandson; his daughter’s mother, Valerie Scott, and many dear friends that were considered family.   Words cannot explain how saddened I am- my dad will be truly missed. I love you Dad may you rest in peace…

The memorial service will be held at the Gallop Funeral Services Chapel in Nags Head Thursday June 9, 2016 at 3 pm. The committal of the urn to the sea will take place immediately following the service. The Reverend Cherrie Wheeler will officiate.
