David Mark Hurley

David Mark Hurley died  Monday June 19, 2006 at the Outer Banks Hospital. “Big Dave “ as he was know by friends and family, was born in Kingsport,  Tennessee May 23, 1960  and was a long-time resident of Salvo, North  Carolina.

“Big Dave” was an avid fisherman.  Besides fishing, he loved the “big trucks” and enjoyed off-roading on the beach in his truck. His faithful dog Merlin was often at his side.

Besides his parents David and Gladys Hurley, “Big Dave” was preceded in death by his brother Johnny  Hurley.  Surviving are his devoted wife Debra Hurley, one daughter; Shannon Claire Hurley ; one son Alex David Hurley; one sister Deborah Hurley Royalty and three brothers Larry Hurley, Kermit Hurley, and Jim Cox.

A graveside service will be held Thursday June 22, 2006 at the Leslie Hooper Cemetery in Salvo. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Big Dave Memorial Fund at East Carolina Bank,  PO Box 399  Nags Head, North Carolina 25959
