Clyde McNeil Bowden

Harbinger- Clyde M. “Tomi” Bowden 85, died at Sentara Nursing Center in Barco, NC Monday evening May 23, 2016 with his daughter by his side.

He was born October 25, 1930 in False Cape, VA to William H. and Edith L. Bowden and was the husband of Ginger Bowden of the residence. Clyde was a veteran retired from the US Coast Guard, and he was also a retired commercial fisherman on the Outer Banks after retiring from the Coast Guard.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Ann Susan McGann and Lori Snowden (husband Thue), a grandson, Lane Quidley better known to Pa Pa as “Boy,” a brother, Ernie Bowden of Carova Beach, NC, three special nieces, Shirley Robbins, Katie Phillips (Tadepole) and Brittany Fulford, a special nephew, Nick Philips, and many other family members and friends (especially his fishing buddies).

Clyde was preceded in death by his father William H. Bowden; his mother Edith L . Bowden; a sister, Marie B. Twiford, and nephews Little Tomi Twiford, Willard Twiford, Jr., and a niece Regina Twiford.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at 2 pm Sunday May 29, 2016 at Powells Point Christian Church. Chaplain Walter Gallop, Sr. will officiate. The burial will be in Powells Point Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Bowden residence at 163 Bowden Lane in Harbinger, NC and at a reception in the church fellowship hall following the graveside service.
