    He was a pleasant and friendly person to be around. I joked with him because he looks so much like one of my nephews and he occasionally would call me “Uncle”.

Christopher Aaron Sahr

Chris was born at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA on October 24, 1966 to R. Lawrence Sahr (deceased) and Jane Gay (Pruett) Sahr. Chris graduated from Hudson High School in Hudson, OH. He received his Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio University in Athens, OH. Most recently Chris worked as a Telecommunications Engineer for Shentel, headquartered in Edinburg, VA.

Chris was married to Ann (Mance) Sahr for almost 35 years. They have three children: Kailyn M. Campbell (William Chris), Michael C. Sahr, and Hannah J. Sahr (Jesse Culberson); and two grandchildren: Nehemiah Campbell and William (Liam) Campbell.  Chris is survived by his mother and brothers: Timothy A. Sahr (Michelle) of Kent, OH and Matthew A. Sahr (Sarah) of Tunis, Tunisia; nieces and nephew: Meghan Sahr, Nathaniel Sahr (Zoe) and Abigail Sahr; and his cat Booger.

Chris was known for his unique approach to repairing automobiles, his black belt in Tae Kwon Do, his ability to fix anything with duct tape, WD-40, or a bigger hammer, his skilled pickings of the guitar and banjo, and his dedication to his wife and children.  Chris was called home on April 2, 2024. A celebration of his life will be held at Church of New Beginnings, Moyock, NC, where he was a founding member, at 1pm on Saturday, April 6, 2024.

Chris will be remembered by many names and roles he held in his community, but his favorite was Papa.  Arrangements were entrusted to Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. Condolences to the family may be expressed via the on-line registry at www.gallopfuneralservices.com.
