Charles Richard Beasley

Grandy – Charles Richard Beasley, 68, passed away Monday, March 16, 2020. Born December 20, 1951, Richard served his country proudly in the USCG on an icebreaker. He was a member of the Coinjock Masonic Lodge #463 and helped start and build up the Lower Currituck Volunteer Fire Dept. Richard loved long distance trucking with his wife Josie. He was an avid outdoorsman, duck hunter and fisherman. Richard was always known for his humor and his ability to make everyone laugh.
Surviving is his wife, Josie Beasley of Grandy; daughters, Jennifer Beasley (Brandon) of Columbia and Sarah Dean (Mark) of Roanoke; son, Tommy Ayers of Poplar Branch; granddaughters, Audrey Brickhouse and Amanda Holdren; and grandson, Josh Holdren. He is also survived by his siblings, Pat Austin and the late Gary Austin of Grandy, BJ and Wanda Beasley of Jarvisburg, Sharon and Scott Forbes of Spot, and Perry Wood and Penny Beasley of Columbia. Richard also leaves many nieces, nephews and his best friend Bill Walker. He is preceded in death by his parents, Burwell and Audrey Beasley and grandson Ryan Beasley.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lower Currituck Volunteer Fire Dept. as well as Coinjock Masonic Lodge #463. A service will be held at Josie and Richard’s home, 6469 Caratoke Hwy Grandy, NC 27939 on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 1pm.
