Bruce Edward Carman

Southern Shores –  Bruce Edward Carman passed away April 9, 2013 at his home in Southern Shores. He was born on March 18,1946 to the late Beatrice and Charles Carman of Trumansburg, NY. Bruce was a retired teacher from Union Endicott School District. He was an avid road biker and master woodworker.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Susan Carman; two daughters, Tricia Lay and husband Gary Lay of Cockeysville, MD and Gina Blum and her husband Joseph Blum, also of Cockeysville, MD. Also surviving Bruce are his five grandchildren Jeremy, Nathan, Gianna, Owen and Cameron. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Carman. He is also survived by his lifelong friends, Bruce and Sandie Barrett of Vestal, NY.

A Celebration of Bruce’s life will be held at Gallop Funeral Services in Nags Head, NC on Saturday, April 13th. Friends and family will be welcomed at 10:00am, with a service following at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Carman Lay Foundation (www.TheCarmanLayFoundation.org) or the Interfaith Community Outreach, Nags Head.
