Bonnie (Eleanor) Ferretti

October 13, 2016

Southern Shores- Bonnie (Eleanor) Ferretti, age 74, of Southern Shores, NC died peacefully on October 13, 2016 surrounded by her husband and children.  Bonnie was born on October 7, 1942 in New Rochelle, NY where she grew up and attended The Ursuline School with many lifelong friends.

In 1961, Bonnie met the love of her life, Vincent E. Ferretti, Jr.  They were married the next year and celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary this past summer.   Bonnie was an amazing mother and friend to her four children, helping them to become loving spouses and parents.  She was immensely proud of each of their accomplishments and successes, for which they all attribute to her and their dad and will always be eternally grateful.

Besides her family, Bonnie loved swimming, playing cards, traveling, hosting neighbors for dinner, cooking, and spending time with her sister and a wide circle of friends.  She was always eager to try new experiences and she encouraged her kids and husband to do the same.

Bonnie touched many lives on the Outer Banks as well as in Rockville, MD.  She was a faithful parishioner of Holy Redeemer Catholic Parish in Kitty Hawk, NC and of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rockville.   She quietly volunteered many hours to help those in need.

Left to cherish her memories and carry on her love and strength, are her loving husband Vince; her dear sister Mary Ellen Lonon; her 4 children and their spouses, Vince and Bonita Ferretti of Hickory NC, Bill and Susan Ferretti of Frederick MD, Karen Ferretti and Tom Beach of North Potomac, MD, and Tina and Chris Carroll, of Derwood, MD; her 9 grandchildren, Franklin, Corey (Kelly), Morgan (Max), Jackie, Matthew, Ryan, Brian, Kevin and Dylan; her great granddaughter Eliana; her nieces and nephews, many of whom considered her to be a second mom; as well as countless friends.

She is welcomed into heaven by her parents, F. William Bowers and Eleanor Bowers, her brother Billy, her sister Helaine, as well as her brother-in-law Doug Lonon.

A mass of Celebration of her life will be held Saturday, October 22 at 10:30 am at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to:
