Arthur Ernest Thibodeau
Duck- Arthur Ernest Thibodeau passed away peacefully at home on October 14, 2009. Born March 10, 1948 in Beverly, Massachusetts, to Ruth and George Thibodeau, Art leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 27 years, Monica, his children, Allyson, Christopher, Ryan, Michele and Matthew, sister Lee Fitzgerald, niece Jia, grandchildren Cole and Reagan, as well as many other family and friends. All who knew him will remember him as a loving father and husband, an accomplished entrepreneur, and a generous man who had a passion for living.
His earlier years were spent serving in the Army during the Vietnam War, graduating Amherst College, and starting several business ventures which led to a very successful career with national computer companies. Locally, as President of Carolina Designs Realty for 18 years, he led a group of dedicated employees that he considered his extended family. He was awarded two patents for his ingenious software development.
Art loved haddock, Howard Stern and lived the motto “it’s all bs” – he tried not to sweat the small stuff. Beyond his love of motorcycles, he had a passion for flying and recently accomplished his dream of becoming a pilot. Art was taken from us too young, but he will live on in our hearts.
A celebration of his life will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Nags Head on Monday, October 19th at 1 PM. The family suggests that donations in honor of Art be forwarded to your favorite charity. Condolences to the family may be sent via the on-line registry at www.gallopfuneralservices.com.
