Anna Domsky

February 27, 2018

Nags Head- Anna Domsky, 88 died Wednesday February 27, 2008 in Nags Head.  Born  May 31, 1919 in Brooklyn, New York she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Frances Dicious.

In 1936 Anna graduated from Central Fashion and Needle Traders, and was employed in retail and clothing sales for many years. During that time Anna met and married her life long love, Edward Domski.  In March of 1952, Anna and Edward moved to New Dorp, Staten Island to raise their son Ronald. For many years Anna was a faithful parishioner at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church of Staten Island.

Anna’s love of nature drew her to the outdoors where she worked in her garden and spent time on the family boat fishing and enjoying summertime sea breezes.  Anna also loved animals and had many pets over the years including an injured wild Starling bird which she nursed back to health.  It lived outside but would fly to Anna’s shoulder from the trees when she called. Anna was no less talented indoors where she enjoyed painting in both oils and water colors and making ceramics in her home studio.

That same love of nature and family brought Anna to North Carolina’s Outer Banks in the summer of 2005 to be closer to her son Ron and his wife Patricia in Southern Shores. Anne initially lived at the Spring Arbor Assisted Living Residence and later at Britthaven Nursing Center in Nags Head.

Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. was entrusted with arrangements. Condolences to the Sawyer family may be sent via the on-line register at www.gallopfuneralservices.com.  The family is grateful to the Brittthaven nursing staff for the compassionate care shown to Anna during her illness.
