Albert Eugene Varble

Kill Devil Hills – Gene Varble, 92 passed away Saturday Oct 1, 2016 after living a long and wonderful life. He leaves behind a son Tom of Vero Beach, FL, and a daughter Suzie and husband Joe of Lorton, VA and many friends. Gene dearly loved his wife Claire and said he was so blessed to be married to her for 64 years. He strongly believed in service to his country and community beginning with his time in the Army Air Corps, a career in the Federal Government Civil Service and his true happiness as a volunteer of the Kill Devil Hills Fire Department.
Poem of Life
Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what’s to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay…
Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey’s quicker,
For some the journey’s slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We’ll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the Lord.
