Jeri G. Spruill
Jeri G. Spruill, long time resident of Spot, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, October 25, 2021 at Spring Arbor Assisted Living, where she gracefully battled Alzheimer’s.
Jeri was born in Pittsburgh, PA May 26, 1942 to her late parents, Emily and George Garrick. She was also a loving stepdaughter to the late Sarah H. Garrick, of Spot, North Carolina. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Charlie B. Spruill.
She is survived by son, Leonard Spruill and wife Vicki; daughter, Emily Coder and companion John McDonald; and son, Donald Spruill all of Powells Point, NC. She is also survived by her brother, George Garrick of Kitty Hawk. Jeri had eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Jeri raised her children while her husband served in the US Coast Guard. Later years she was a bookkeeper for Belcross Beverage Co., Lowe’s Building Supply, and lastly Barrier Island Resort. She was a hard worker and very devoted to her husband and children.
Jeri’s wishes for cremation will be honored. The family will have a memorial service for Jeri and her husband, Charlie (service had been delayed due to Covid) on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Gallop Funeral Services Chapel in Nags Head.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Powells Point Baptist, 8387 Caratoke Highway, Powells Point, NC 27966 or to the Alzheimer’s Association. The family would like to thank Spring Arbor for the wonderful care that was given to Jeri and also thanks to Albemarle Hospice.

Aunt Jeri and Uncle Charlie were always good too me. I loved aunt Jeri's cooking and uncle Charlie and I hunted many hours together. May they both rest in peace.
I am so sorry for the family's loss. Jeri and I worked together at Barrier Island. She and I took walks on our breaks and worked out on the treadmills in the gym. She was so sweet, kind, and funny. I have always treasured the times we spent together and the laughs we shared. Rest in peace Jeri.
