William L. Ackiss

William “Bill” Ackiss, 80 of Kitty Hawk passed away May 19, 2025. Bill was preceded in death by his wife Linda in 2015. He is survived by his son, Tommy; one brother, one granddaughter and two great grandchildren.

Bill was active in the Friends of Youth program, and the local N.E.S.T. turtle protection group for years.  He and Linda also operated a computer business for many years, which tracked local building permit activity.  In his spare time, Bill loved kayaking and exploring new waterways with his best friend and the paddling club. Bill would often swim in the ocean and he loved peacefully walking the beach.
